Homemade Suet
This is how I set up the suet for the Stainless Steel Suet Feeder.
Peanut Butter Suet Dough
Melt together:
1 cup lard or beef suet
1 cup peanut butter
Take off the heat and add:
2 cups quick oats
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
Spread on a cookie sheet and cool in the refrigerator.
Store in freezer bags, break off pieces when needed.
My Variation:
I made half as much and added 1 cup of peanut halves and shelled sunflower seeds. Then I poured it into a large margarine container lined with plastic wrap with a clear tube in the center to allow the threaded rod to slip through. Cool.
